- I started Goals In Motion again - on MWF's I'm going to the resistance classes. Monday felt so good... Tuesday I was so sore I could barely move. I mean... old lady walking, not able to go up and down stairs or get out of the car. It's pathetic. But that is what happens when you take a year off of any real physical activity.
- Jessica is buildling a house. That to me is crazy. I think their house fits them so well, that them moving in to a fancy new house seems so 'not them'... I guess I'm just used to older ranch houses in a two mile radius of where we grew up. She'll be farther away, which stinks, but I will probably still stop over unannounced when I want too... not that I do that that often anyway.
- Going to KC this weekend to see my wonderful friend Dan. We always have such a great time and he 'gets' me. It's his birthday celebration, so I'm sure it will be epicly awesome.
- We have my friend Nicole's baby shower on Sunday. It went really well. Great friends, food and presents. She's due and June and not finding out what she is having until then. She recently asked Brendan's parents if it would be ok if she possibly used his name in her baby's name. From the sounds of it they were emotional but ok with that. So I guess we'll see...
- Sam got a new job. Happy for her. So all 3 of us girls will be working at WF. Crazy...
- I miss my mommy. I don't see her as much lately and I'm not able to call her and chit chat like I did with my last job. I might have to ask her on a date night soon.
- I'm ready for a vacation.

The Radish - Grimes
A couple Saturday's ago, Wayne and I, went to the Radish in Grimes. It's on the main street, in what I can only guess is an old house. It was comfy and cozy and the food was G.R.E.A.T.
Wayne ordered the cavetlli or maybe it was the lasagne... I can't remember. He let me have a bite and it was GLORIOUS! Sooooo good.
I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. I'm not sure why, I had never had it before, but it sounded delicious. The quote from the TV show TrueBlood kept running through my head. "You should try the chicken fried steak. It's like a chicken and a steak got together and made a baby. A delicious, crispy baby"
Gravy, mashed taters and fried chicken/steak. It was rich and I couldn't finish it... and it was SOOOOO good.
I think this place is a must try for anyone wanting to get away from the 'regular' resturants in DSM. It's not that far of a drive, and even if it was, it would be worth it!

Working - Downtown Des Moines

Doppelgangers: I’ve seen so many people that look EXACTLY like some of my friends… only they aren’t them.
Heels: After my first day and walking in my 4inch black Jessica Simpson heels, I now either wear flip flops or tennis shoes and then change into my heels, once at my desk. There are a lot of women that don’t do this and look like they are in a lot of pain by the end of the day. There are also a lot of women that cannot walk in heels to begin with, and should just not wear them. I’m surprised I have not seen these girls fall, or break an ankle. Practice makes perfect in the world of heel wearing… but don’t practice at work, you look like an idiot.
Food: There are more places in convenient locations either through the skywalks or just walking a couple blocks outside on a nice spring day. Burgers, pizza, BBQ, you name it… it’s in walking distance. I have learned to rein myself in and will now only be eating lunch out on Fridays. However, there is a bagel place nearby that I seem to get to a couple times a week. This morning my nice cinnamon and sugar bagel was delicious until I got to my second half… which must have rubbed up against an onion bagel at some point. So imagine this if you will. A bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, with some nice chopped onions mixed in.
Exactly! It was NASTY… but I ate it anyway. There are starving people out there, I dare not waste food.
Music: The Absolute Citron bottle building has music playing from speakers as you walk by. Its just stuff you’d normally hear on an elevator. Speaking of elevators… it seems like speaking or saying good morning to people is frowned upon down here. Just best to act like you don’t see anyone, that no one is packed on the elevator with you and that you don’t hear them when they say “Floor 40 please… will you please hit floor 40?... Excuse me person by the buttons that I can’t reach from where I am in the elevator… can you PLEASE push floor 40…. Oh never mind, I’ll hit it on the way back down.. I like this ride so much anyway.” and… back to music. There is always some person in the skywalk, with their guitar, a container for money, singing their hearts out – and really none of them sound that bad, it’s kinda nice. I haven’t given any money yet… I probably will when I hear a song I actually like. You know, NKOTB or Garth Brooks.
